The Entire Domain

Jerry Seinfeld in my book is definitely a static character.  “The old Jerry is very similar to the old Jerry,” says his sister Carolyn Liebling.  “He would and still does obsess about trivial things” (pg 5).

Jerry has always been a loner.  “I didn’t fit in anywhere,” says Jerry, “I was never really part of anything.”  This is still true today.  His most serious relationship was with Shoshamna Loenstein, which ended sooner than he would have liked.  Other than the show Jerry seems to lack a real life.  “The show has been Jerry’s life.” says co-star Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine)(Pg 236)

Jerry’s work ethic has not changed.  When he wanted something, he worked hard to get it.   Throughout college he went to comedy clubs to watch people do stand-up.  On the night that he graduated with honors from Queen’s college he did his first stand-up routine.

From when Jerry was a loner kid striving to be like his comedy hero Bill Cosby, to being a loner adult striving to have a great television show, Jerry Seinfeld’s values of producing quality comedy and looking at the little things in life have not changed much.
